Cover versions
OK folks....as we know as Coast have progressed they have now cut the cover versions down to just one song a gig, that being Runrig's In Scan........ which is a great version.
Is it time for a change and maybe a new cover version to be include in the set. If so what do you think they should do

Re: Cover versions
Canada's a good idea.
I was going to suggest Edge of the World but that would clash with your own "America".

Re: Cover versions
How could I forget, but when Coast played at our wedding they did a cracking version of "In Search of Angels"
Re: Cover versions
Hmm, "Canada" is a good idea, I love the song and it would be interesting to hear a different version of it, though I really would miss Rory's voice in it...

Road Trip!! The Mighty Atlantic!! Every River!!
I would be happy with anything, but I think they are doing the right thing not doing too many covers, they are more than capable of writing some pretty shit hot stuff themselves.

Re: Cover versions
I'm not really a fan of Runrig cover's. Canada is also one of my all-time-Runrig favourites, I have many nice memories to that song. Would be interesting if I could enjoy it performed by another band.

re cover versions
Well if Coast were to do another Runrig cover i would love The Greatest Flame(my wife is not the only old romantic)However i really wouldn't mind seeing the guys let rip on something by the Stones say Brown Sugar or Honky Tonk woman or maybe Blue Oyster Cults, Don't Fear The Reaper.I think the truth is though Coast actually dont need to do covers with all the work they have yet to unleash onto or should that be into our ears?Well whatever they do i shall look forward to having a listen.

I do agree, and to be honest If Coast never played another cover it wouldn't bother me as their own stuff is so strong..............long live Celtic rock
Re: Cover versions
If the guys have more than enough of their own work to fill a live gig then fantastic!! Not being up on preparing for gigs and stuff, do the band think they go down better with an audience if they do play some songs that the crowd know?? Is it hard to play a gig which only has songs that are unknown to the main part of the audience??
I think Dire Straits is a great idea, although I am happy with their own stuff!!
They could maybe learn that all time Celtic classic, Don't Worry Be Happy, as played by the man himself, Bobby McFerrin at Celtic Connections this year!!!
