I Have A Problem........

Ok I have a dilemna........

As some of you are aware it is my....wait for it..... 40th Birthday on 26 Febuary, now as it is the big FOUR ZERO, I would like to do what I want to do for my birthday, and what I really want to do, is do all three gigs..now that would make me happy.

Problem:

Sarah's daughters are in University in Cardiff and Southampton and we dont see them much, they are both travelling to Blackpool as they are entered in to some sort of Ballroom Dancing competition.......this falls on my birthday and runs to Sunday, and for my birthday Sarah wants to take me away for the week somewhere but make sure we end up in Blackpool on the Friday night to see her daughters performance. We will then leave Sunday afternoon to make it to Melrose.

How can I say to Sarah..........'I DONT WANT TO GO TO BLOODY BLACKPOOL' without sounding like a spoilt brat?

The only possibility is, leave your message on the computer screen open and wait until Sarah had a look on it. You will get a reaction...

Compromise? A few days in Scotland ending up in Oban on Friday, Blackpool for Saturday and then Melrose?

With a promise that you will do whatever Sarah wants for her birthday!

Matthias - from the female point of view I would say leaving Sarah to find out from the computer screen is a very bad idea indeed and is unlikely to have the desired result! Quite possibly the opposite!

Or you could agree to go your separate ways for the weekend but that isn't likely to go down too well either - putting Sarah on a train from Oban to Blackpool while you drive to Inverness....


PS - Wish I was 40!

Tricky one Dave! On one hand it is your birthday so you are allowed to behave like a spoilt brat, on the other hand it is your partner's daughters dancing in Blackpool!!

So basically I don't know what you should do!!

After much deliberating I have found out that I am going to the Emerald Isle from Monday to the 'Oban' Friday for my birthday.

I have suggested that we drive both cars to the ferry port and just take one to Ireland, then on the return trip she turns right to Blackpool and I turn left to Oban. This hasn't gone down quite as I had hoped!

I will keep you updated of progress.
