Celtic Crossing - Bruce Guthro
Thank you to two very kind people, I was lucky enough to be emailed a copy of this CD at the weekend, and then yesterday I got a gift, through the post, of the actual CD from one of our Danish friends who had taken pity on me.... Thank you to both girls...the dishonest one who does illegal emailing and the one who paid for a copy for me.....
To be honest when I first heard it on the computer, I wasn't that impressed. But listening to it in the car today, I have to say I have been blown away. The use of traditional instruments is really impressive and the mix of trad songs and songs written by Bruce and his son Dylan are really lovely.
It is so different from NFD, which is probably my all time favourite CD, but in it's own way, it is very special...although I am not too keen on his version of Wild Mountain Thyme, but if it's not The Silencers, then nobody is ever going to be as good as they are (in my eyes!!!).
Yip, a definate favourite CD in my collection now, and once more the effort that two people went to for a fellow Bruce fan is much appreciated. Love you both girls. xxxx
