Fiery as suggested The Lorne in Oban, Hoots in Inverness ( handy!) and doesn't know about Melrose - pinched this info from the SG

£50 seems a lot. I'm only paying £28 a night. Mind you, if that is for a double/twin room then that's ok.

Well to my mind there is not a lot wrong with hoots (for Inverness) its self though i have not eaten there i do know the beer is very good and there is also a very good thai resturant just up the road if you dont fancy whats on their menu.A word of caution though,in our experience you do well to get in early if there is a good band on so you can stake a table to rest your beer on it does get heaving in there! There is also Johnnie Foxes, beers not so good but a good menu and only a few minutes walk from Hoots. However,I'm sure if there is someone local they could good give us the benefit of their knowledge, please.

Re: Scottish Erosion Tour - Feb
There is a Jimmy Chung's close by and also a couple of really good Indian Restaurants. Hoots, the traditional Scottish pub, does Thai food!! The Filling Station on Academy Street does the same sort of grub that you get in TGI's and Frankie & Bennies.
I would say that getting into Hoots reasonably early to get a seat is a good bet.
Paul/Coast, do you know which part of the pub you are playing in yet?? Is it the downstairs bar or Mad Hatters which is upstairs??
I am so looking forward to meeting you lot, and Trousers, I love your Coaster joke!!!
