Re: Celtic Connections 2010
Sorry we got a fiddle player drowning you out on Reckless Engineer, but holy hell how bloody good was Big Blue Sky!!! I seriously love you guys so much.
You sounded great and watching the story unfold on FB I could feel the nerves from your lovely ladies!!
Hope you get the result you truly deserve, and I just hope you didn't blow up any old Highlanders hearing aids!!!!

You we're absolutely fantastic.
It sounded great, though we couldn't hear the second song. What was it? Reckless Engineer? - would have loved to hear that one.
The audience seemed to like you and I keep my fingers crossed that you will make it!!
Jutta xx

Re: Celtic Connections 2010
You were amazing!!!! Such a shame that on the dot of seven we had the "station jingle" followed by a manic fiddle track - underneath which, at times, with my ear to the laptop, I could just discern the Reckless Engineeer. Thank goodness we got you back in time for Big Blue Sky! Ironic eh, that some engineer should be so reckless as to play over your song!
It wasn't easy to hear the audience reaction for most of the programme but we could certainly hear that they were enthusiastic about Coast - and there were more than just Trousers and Fiery making all the noise!
By the way, who do we see about the damaged sofa springs?

Listening to Coast of course!
We took Himself's laptop downstairs and I even missed the first 15 minutes of the Antiques Roadshow for Paul and the band!!! How's that for dedication?

Re: Celtic Connections 2010
Wow for a weekend, Coast has tried out life as a prof band, I'm dam sure that it was so successful!
It was also thrilling to be a fan .........
Saturday I was on shopping in Germany, little bottles to soothe nerves with . When we got home it was good to hear the taped program from BBC Solent, and note that Coast had made it SOOO good!
Already a Sunday morning nerves began to stir, when we read that the car had made problems , I came to think of Runrig in their younger days ....
New car and rest at, it was fantastic to be able to follow you the whole trip.
THANK YOU THANK YOU Martin!
So there should be planned so everything was ready for the big moment where the Coast would be live on stage at Celtic Connections. It was awesome to share the moment with all of you on facebook, it gave a little tears and goose bumps, but waiting was boring and loooong!
Soooooo they were on and started .... the power and profits to gain audience to clap and sing .
Song number 2 ....... What happens .......... who is it who plays violin ????????
Perspiration skips, panic in the little home in Denmark, Oh no ....
Finally, run it again, without the violin!
No doubt in my mind, it was süsses! Coast you made it sooo good
We can all benefit devote time and plan the trip to Celtic Connection 2011th
There may be other organizers who are ready to contracts for this summer's festival, after this weekend's süsses both in radio and on stage!
It is a pleasure to follow Coast

Hope the band has a good assurance...
I heard the concert only by internet radio, but it seemed to be VERY VERY LOUD!!!
TOO LOUD for hearing aids and the old Highlanders in their comfortable seats had probably many overmodulations...

Re: Celtic Connections 2010
Wow... What can I say? I've never been so nervous before they went on and I'm not in the band!
A bit too emotionally drained to post too much at the moment but there will be a big write up coming soon on the website.
So many defining moments...but the one overriding thing that stood out for me was how professional the guys were before, during and after the show (if one ignores the alfrsco urination and demolition of kiddies rides in
service stations of course!)
Proud of you guys.
Martin

Not heard anything here in Troserland yet. They had the last qualifiers this evening so should hear fairly late I guess as they need to take tonght's acts into account

Re: Celtic Connections 2010
Shame the guys didn't make the top 6 (or the top 2% as another way of looking at it).....I think everyone connected with the band had a hunch that they weren't what CC was looking for. But there's no sour grapes....quite the opposite....it was a great shop window for the guys so thanks to Celtic Connections for giving them a spot on the Danny Kyle stage.
It sounds like they won quite a few fans in Glasgow so onwards and upwards!

Re: Celtic Connections 2010
Well, that's a pity
but anyway Coast will go on rocking the world!!
You guys have so much talent and energy and the will to make it to the top, it will work at last , even without this CC thing.
Go on COAST !!
